I have just started using Twitter and asked why? Why do you need Twitter? My initial thought was, my life is not that important enough to tweet (that is the proper word to use, I just learned!).
It is all about networking. You never know what you are going to comment on and then all of a sudden someone has responded and it becomes a great way to meet people!
I have learned that you can follow just about anyone. The more I research, the more people I find that are using Twitter. Another neat feature is that you can personalize your page and control who follows you. It all is quite simple, that is what surprised me the most.
Another quick tip is to sign up for Tweet Deck. This helps you to organized all your people into groups, so you can keep track of who you are getting the tweets from. This might sound complicated but it isn't and it's fun seeing what responses you get when you type something in and to see what other people are writing about.
I like it and I think I might use it now that I have played with it a bit more. I have also seen how it will be a great networking tool.
